Vitae 2025 AIS: Guido Pelizzatti Perego ritira il premio Tastevin d'Oro ad ARPEPE

The eleventh edition of the AIS Guida Vitae was presented at the Leopolda in Florence, with a large tasting table. For Lombardy there are 18 Gems and 144 4 Vines.
The Tastevin of Lombardy from the Vitae 2025 Guide of the Italian Sommelier Association rises to the peaks of Valtellina. The 2025 edition, the eleventh, was presented on Saturday 16 November in Florence at the Leopolda, a beautiful location that has long been linked to the world of wine.

The coveted Tastevin award for Lombardy was awarded to the Valtellina Superiore Sassella Riserva Ultimi Raggi Riserva 2018 from the ARPEPE vinery. It is one of the iconic wines of this historic Valtellina reality, born in 1999 from an idea of the founder Arturo Pelizzatti Perego: a pure Chiavennasca, left to dry slightly in the vineyard at about 600 meters, in the upper part of Sassella in the area called " Ere". The award was collected by Guido Pelizzatti Perego, who runs the company together with his sister Isabella and brother Emanuele.

The Tastevin prize is awarded to those who have contributed to bringing about a turning point in production in the territory of origin, to those who represent a reference model of undisputed value in the respective area or to those who have rescued forgotten vines from oblivion and brought the sector's attention back to the sector, without no psychological subservience towards the number of bottles produced or the image of the producer.

Almost three thousand (2951) companies in the app, 2350 in the paper edition, 452 Gems, 2326 wines with a score above 90\100, 169 Cupido wines, 204 reported for the relationship between value and price, 159 passepartout, overall almost 20,000 tasted and evaluated. These are the numbers of over six months of work which saw the involvement of a central editorial team, 22 territorial editorial offices and over 1000 collaborators who draw up the sheets, manage the tastings and all the complex logistical organization that supports them.

“Vitae – explained the representative of the 2025 edition, Nicola Bonera – is renewed for the eleventh time and with great satisfaction sees an increase, year after year, in the number of companies that believe in the project and get involved, proposing the own wines to local tasting commissions.  The number that we will publish on the app is close to 3000 units, while the samples sent well exceed 20,000 labels. During 2023, the training area of the Italian Sommelier Association completed a colossal work, releasing the new analytical descriptive sheet for wine tasting, with new evaluation bands that allowed the method of assigning the various awards to be updated. The Gemma, already a symbol of the wines with the best scores, from this edition will symbolize all those labels that deserve 94 or more points out of 100, i.e. the excellence range. The constantly updated app, from this year with the geolocation function, will allow you to always look up close and with an attentive eye at the beautiful world that we are so passionate about."
